Antes de los 45 años los hombres comienzan a experimentar una serie de cambios hormonales y psicológicos. Qué hay detrás de la andropausia y por qué es tan difícil reconocerla

Si una mujer de 50 está nerviosa o irritable suelen escucharse frases que hacen referencia a la menopausia. Sin embargo no son las únicas, ellos también pasan por esta etapa. La principal diferencia es que los hombres hablan poco y nada sobre esta situación.

Lo que hay que saber es que la andropausia no es una enfermedad, sino un periodo biológico en el que se da una disminución en la producción de la testosterona masculina. Esta fase es muy habitual en hombres de entre 40 y 55 años de edad.

«La premenopausia empieza antes de los 45 con síntomas que no son tan notorios. Están nerviosos, les cuesta dormir, empieza con calores y sienten que no rinden lo suficiente en el trabajo y otros ámbitos de la vida», explicó a Infobae la psicóloga Beatriz Goldberg.

El hecho de que sea un tema tabú, refuerza el sentimiento de vergüenza de muchos hombres. Hay quienes niegan la situación o simplemente hacen como si nada sucediera. «Les cuesta muchísimo reconocer que hay algo que les falta. Les baja la testosterona que es algo que a ellos también los irrita, los pone mal y se sienten diferentes», detalló la especialista.

Tienen menos vitalidad y carga energética para compartir y renovar sus amistades ya que sienten más decadentes e irritables

Esta situación comienza a manifestarse cuando intentan «medirse» con los más jóvenes. «El comportamiento cambia porque muchas veces tienen baja autoestima y sienten que no son los mismos de antes», dijo Goldberg

Por eso, en estas situaciones lo mejor que puede existir es el diálogo y el apoyo por parte de la pareja. Reírse y usar el humor es una de las claves, ya que esta instancia es ideal para construir y darse la oportunidad de renovar proyectos.

«Ambos deben tratar de encontrar un camino donde la mujer le pueda pasar un poco de la energía positiva que tiene. Debe ayudarlo a que tenga la mejor versión de sí mismo sin emular el pasado. A veces es un buen momento para replantearse cambios porque hay apuestas fuertes a esta edad. Uno puede desarrollarse en todos los ámbitos», finalizó la especialista.
